Bake and Brew Panadería

Bake and Brew Panadería

Quick History: Bake and Brew Panadería is a Mexican themed and women-owned coffee shop and café located in northern Peoria in the Grand Prairie Mall. It is one of the only remaining food themed stores left in the mall (might be the only at this point). It's only been open for a couple of years.

My experience: I am always worried when I hear of local businesses opening in either of our malls in Northern Peoria because they never seem to last long. I've been to this place several times, and my experience has been generally positive. Like pretty much every coffee spot nowadays, the coffee is a bit out of my price range to be able to enjoyed in my normal routine like I believe coffee should be, but I believe the best parts of this place are actually in what it offers otherwise. They have a ton of baked goods, and they offer these deals where they sell discounted sweets if they made it a day or two ago, some even being $1 which is a steal to me. Many Mexican desserts are available 1 day old such as conchas, pan de muerto, telera, and others that are delicious (some are huge, too, so in my opinion, even if not fresh, it's still a great deal!) The people who I see that work at the café are young and shy, but friendly and willing to help. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area; there is not usually traffic when I go there and I feel like being in a mall that doesn't get the most traction already puts you at a disadvantage because people won't see you when they're just driving by. Operation save local businesses!

  1. I’ve been to the mall in Northern Peoria before, but I didn’t know there was a panaderia in there! I’ve been wanting to find a Mexican bakery in Peoria, so im going to have to try this spot and get some conchas for sure! Thank You!!

  2. Hi Jessica,
I don’t go off campus very often, so I usually eat and do everything at home, but this is definitely a coffee shop I’d like to visit. I really enjoy Mexican culture, and honestly, every culture in general because they are fascinating to me, which is one more reason to check it out. Also, even though the price of the coffee might be high, the prices for their bakery items are really attractive and definitely worth a try.
Thank you for sharing with us. If I have the opportunity to go, I will let you know what I think of it!

  3. Their Tres Leches Cake is delicious! If I'm at the mall, I usually stop in and get a piece to go.
